When Visibility Feels Like Exposure

There’s a moment I remember; the kind that doesn’t seem significant at first, until you realize you keep returning to it.

I was sitting in my coffee shop, phone in hand, a caption written and ready. It wasn’t just content. It was something true — something from the marrow, not the mind. Something I didn’t want to gloss over.

But my hand hesitated.

Not because it wasn’t valuable.
Because I wasn’t sure who I was allowed to be, once I said something that honest.

That’s what no one talks about.

Visibility doesn’t just touch the part of us that wants to grow.
It brushes against the part that remembers being misunderstood.

We say we struggle with consistency.
But often, what we’re really struggling with… is exposure.

The kind that feels like standing in the middle of the room, heart open, wondering if anyone will truly see you. Or if they ever have.
